Thermal treatments
UFG srl offers all the following heat treatments
Tempering in atmosphere and in vacuum
The hardening is part of the heat treatments and is carried out on the surface of ferrous materials in order to obtain a hardening of the product.
Solubilization and aging
The solubilization is the hardening of austenitic steels. Treatment is generally conducted at 1,000-1,100 ° C with rapid cooling in forced air or water. Aging consists in the precipitation of the alloy material in the metal structure.
Annealing
The annealing is the heat treatment carried out on laminated and cold deformed materials, hot deformed, to obtain a lowering of the hardness. The heat treatment involves the heating of the material and the permanence at the useful temperature, followed by cooling in conditions that allow the metal to be in the state closest to stable equilibrium.
Nitriding
Nitriding is a thermochemical treatment performed on ferrous products to obtain a surface enrichment of nitrogen.
The diffusion of nitrogen takes place by heat treatment in an atmosphere of anhydrous gaseous ammonia or by ionic discharge in a rarefied atmosphere of ammonia.
Nitrocarburizing
Nitrocarburization is a thermochemical treatment carried out on ferrous products to obtain a surface enrichment of nitrogen, carbon and sulfur.
It takes place by heat treatment in the atmosphere of anhydrous gaseous ammonia and a cementing and sulfur gas or by ionic discharge in the atmosphere of hydrogen, nitrogen and cementing gas.
Cementation
Cementation is a heat treatment carried out on ferrous products to obtain a surface enrichment in austenite, of carbon in a solid solution.
The enrichment in the diffusion of carbon on the surface is done by heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere or at low pressure.
Carbonitriding
Carbonitriding is a thermochemical treatment performed on ferrous products to obtain a surface enrichment in carbon austenite and nitrogen in a solid solution.
Reclamation
The reclamation is the heat treatment of hardening plus the tempering carried out on ferrous products to obtain a specific combination of toughness, mechanical properties and ductility.
