42CRMO4
42CRMO4
Features: Steel with good hardenability, not sensitive to overheating and not subject to brittle tempering. It is the most widely used reclamation steel for good resistance, forgeability and machinability to machine tools. It is suitable for all hot applications up to a temperature of 500 °C. It can also be surface hardened or nitrated to increase wear and fatigue resistance for workpieces that are not subject to too high specific pressures.
Use: suitable for gears, shafts and tie rods.

39NICRM03
Features: Steel with high mechanical strength, impact, fatigue, excellent hardness, toughness, wear resistance and heat (up to 400 ° C), insensitive to fracture fragility with discrete behavior at temperatures below 0 ° C .
Among the special steels for reclamation is one of the best used. Employed in the automotive, mechanical and aviation industry in general. Suitable for highly stressed parts also dynamically bending, twisting, traction, fatigue and wear, which are non-heat-treated, with a surface hardness similar to that of a cemented layer.
Use: common shafts, transmission, elbow, spindles, crankshafts, connecting rods, rocker arms, transmission gears for large powers, suction valves, hinges, tie rods, etc.

Cementing steels
16CrNi4
16CrNi4
Features: CrNi alloy steel, with reduced temperability, is widely used in the motor industry for its high surface hardness and wear resistance, excellent mechanical and impact strength with heart-toughness, good heat resistance (up to 200 °C), good weldability and machinability in the annealed state. It is suitable for workpieces of small and medium size (up to 40 mm thick) which are rather stressed and subject to strong wear and tear, which are not very deformable during the hardening process.
Use: bushings, pins, gears, differential wings, chain wheels, rollers, pins, details of automatisms, etc.

18NiCrMo5
18NiCrMo5 (17NiCrMo6-4)
Features: NiCrMo-alloyed steel is widely used for wear-resistant parts (gears and sprockets of all types and for the most intense use, camshafts, crankshafts, bushes and pins, molds for materials plastics, cast spatula cylinders, etc.) that require high surface hardness (62 ÷ 64 HRC), good toughness at heart, excellent mechanical properties, minimal deformations to the hardening and have dimensions up to 100mm in thickness. Often, this steel is only used to be hardened and lying in place of reclaiming steels, since it has the same hardness and tensile characteristics as it has a higher tenacity. It is widely used in the production of wear-resistant components
Use: gears, sprockets, bushings, camshafts, etc

Features: Steel alloy to MnCr, easily machinable and weldable, suitable for oil hardening. It has low hardenability and therefore can give good core characteristics up to a thickness of about 40 – 50 mm. It can be modified with the addition of boron which has the function of improving hardenability and above all the toughness of the cemented and hardened layer. It is generally well machinable on machine tools in the normalized state, in the most critical cases it requires isothermal annealing in black and white.
Use: mechanical components such as gears of medium size, joints and axles for the construction of vehicles, etc.

C15
Features: Unalloyed steel suitable for small, very simple pieces, without sharp edges, holes, carvings and without abrupt variations of sections, because due to the reduced hardenability that requires cooling of hardening in water, fractures and deformations can be feared. Due to its reduced hardenability, it is not necessary to collect the Jominy test data. It is a mild carbon steel, easily cold machinable and weldable without any particular precaution.
Use: used for workpieces that require high toughness and low mechanical strength of the heart, such as pins, bushings, pins, spindles, spindles, levers, etc.

Spring steels
48Si7
48Si7
Features: It is a steel with high elasticity and low hardenability for water hardening. It is particularly suitable for the treatment of isothermal remediation on small pieces with thicknesses ≤ 15mm, or diameters ≤ 22mm, achieving resilience values with the same mechanical strength, much higher than those achievable with conventional reclamation, and a hardness at heart of 52 HRC.
Use: construction of leaf springs, volute springs and discoidal springs for railway wagons; construction of hoppers, hooves, hoes, parts of agricultural machinery and buildings subject to wear, etc.

100Cr6
Features: Steel of good hardenability up to 30mm thick is widely adopted for the construction of balls, rollers, rolling bearing rings. Wear resistance, compressive strength and non-deformability of hardening. Steel also used for the construction of screws and plasticiser cylinders of moulding and extrusion machines for plastics whose wear depends on the combination of three phenomena: abrasion, corrosion, fatigue.

Stainless steels
X17CrNi16 - 2AISI431
X17CrNi16 – 2AISI431
Features: It is a steel with excellent corrosion resistance even in marine atmosphere or in contact with organic acids, alkaline solutions, high pressure steam, etc. The resistance to oxidation is good up to 750 ° C under continuous operating conditions and up to 800 ° C under intermittent operating conditions. The weldability is sufficient with preheating to 300 – 400 ° C. Immediately after welding, do not allow to cool to below 100 ° C and proceed immediately to a tempering at 600-650 ° C with a 2-4 hour permanence, followed by cooling in calm air, oil or water. Machinability with the tool is good.
Use: in the reclaimed state for parts of valves and pumps, underwater tools, nuts and bolts in general, centrifuge bodies for food use, propeller shafts for fresh water, etc.

X30Cr13 - AISI420B
X30Cr13 AISI 420 B
Features: It is a steel with good corrosion resistance. It has the highest corrosion resistance in the hardened and stretched state, with mirror polished surfaces. The resistance to hot oxidation is good up to 650 ° C under continuous operating conditions and up to 750 ° C under intermittent operating conditions. It has particular mechanical characteristics that make it suitable for many uses. The weldability is good with preheating to 200 – 250 ° C. After welding, it is advisable to anneal at 700-750 ° C with a 6-8 hours permanence followed by a cooling in calm air. Machinability with the tool is good.
Use: in the reclaimed state for parts of valves and pumps, cutlery, parts of mining machinery, molds for plastics, surgical and dental instruments, gauges, in the petrochemical, naval, chemical, food, oxidation resistant, spheres, etc.

X2CrNiMo17-12-2 AISI 316 L
X2CrNiMo17-12-2 AISI 316 L
Features: It is a steel with excellent resistance to stress corrosion, insensitive to inter-crystalline corrosion and punctiform corrosion. The latter is a localised corrosion which, under the action of a corrosive agent, in particular solutions containing iodine, bromine and chlorine ions (the latter being the least aggressive), causes small pitting that can cause rapid perforation of the material. The weldability is excellent and does not require any treatment after welding.
Use: architectural decorations, equipment for chemical, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, paper, textile, etc. industries.

Features: tempered steel with medium carbon, with a high content of manganese and risolforate. It possesses acceptable hardenability, although not in line with the Mn content, which is largely precipitated as MnS. The high S content reduces weldability due to the high risk of hot cracks. It is available in drawn bars for the manufacture of mechanical components, also through heavy machining to machine tools with chip removal, due to the good workability.
Use: intended for high-speed machining and reclamation treatment.
