With over 30 years of consolidated experience in the field of mechanical machining and gearing, UFG srl mainly produces collaboration with designers in the initial phase of the project. Our production is designed for small and medium series or micro-ring sampling, with profile to ISO standards and special-purpose profiles.

Thanks to its high performance, gear hobbing is one of the leading gear manufacturing technologies. New creator geometries and new high-tech coatings help increase creators’ durability and cutting speed.

Gear shaping

Machining by circular knives with mechanical fixing essentially acts as a pinion, but with the sharp in place of the teeth. The gear teeth are formed by rotating the tool in mutual contact with the component that is needed to be shaped. In this type of machining, the circular knife is mounted on the tool spindle head while the semifinished is positioned on the workpiece plate. The knife axis is parallel to the axis of the dental component and the tool while moving is advancing gradually in the gear.

Molded milling

Thanks to the perfect combination of geometry, workpiece and tool, we perform toothed milling on wheels and sprockets, ensuring precision machining on the workpiece.

UFG produces straight and helical teeth precision racks using various types of materials. Racks are produced from module 0.5 to module 20

Broaching

Broaching is a machining process of chip removal carried out with a series of teeth arranged next to each other according to increasing thickness.

The most common broaching workings are:

  • Square holes
  • Hexagonal holes
  • Chiavette
  • Profili ad evolvente
  • Complex profiles

We perform broachings of small, medium and large series.
Broaching is a mechanical machining that requires high precision.

Slotting

We perform CNC slotting machining of small, medium series, including prototypes, with a maximum stroke of 850 mm. Stitching is performed by CNC machine tools with vertical alternate vertical motion of the toolholder slip, differs from broaching to perform holes for injecting and blind holes.

The most common slotting processes are:
